Cemil Meric Life
His full name is Hüseyin Cemil Meriç. He graduated from Hatay High School. He entered Istanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Philosophy. He returned to Hatay without completing his education. He worked as a primary school teacher and district director for a while, and as a chief assistant at the Translation Pen. He graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of French Language and Literature. Thinker, writer, scholar who has published numerous works in the fields of Language, History, Literature, Philosophy, Sociology and Social Sciences. He worked as a French teacher at Elâzığ High School (1942-45). He worked as a lecturer at Istanbul University School of Foreign Languages (1946). He became blind in 1955. However, with the help of his students, he continued his studies until his death. In 1974, he retired from Istanbul University. He died on June 13, 1987 in Istanbul.
